Losinj is located in the northern region of the Croatian Adriatic Sea near Kvarner bay. It is the largest island within the local archipelago and the eleventh in size on the Croatian side of the Adriatic Sea. Measuring 33 km in lenght, its width ranges from 5 km to no more than 5 m in the mere center of the island near the small town of Mali Losinj.
